Product Description
As with all Ringstar® Advantage Martial Arts Equipment, the Ringstar® Sparring line-up is the result of 5-Time World Kickboxing Champion Steve Shepherd’s pursuit of an alternative to inferior and outdated footpads. Designed specifically for Martial Arts and Sport Karate, Ringstar® Sparring Shoes feature common SAFETY and PROTECTIVE attributes, yet each has specific qualities that make them unique.
This shoe’s innovative design makes it a great choice for everything from forms to sparring. The shoe is constructed of lightweight material making it comfortable and flexible for forms and training. It’s also layered with protective padding making it a great replacement for traditional sparring footwear. The sneaker-like design of the Ringstar® covers the whole foot, reducing hygiene concerns and increasing the protection provided by the shoe.

My work out mostly consists of Krav Maga 3 times a week. After a year my Discipline shoes fell apart from the dampness and abuse. I decided to try the Ringstar Triple S Sparring Shoe and I am quite happy.
They are quite light yet very supportive of my feet. They seem to be built very well and require no break in period. The Velcro padded tongue is effective but not intrusive. The tongue does not interfere with my Krav Maga shin guards (particularly the instep pad).
I recommend these shoes to any serious Martial artist looking for foot protection during sparring and regular workouts.
If my Ringstar shoes last at least as long as my Discipline shoes then I will really be impressed.
Update 4/2009 – Shoes lasted about 7-8 months. Sole wore out and bacame very slippery in the gym.
