What is the Muladhara?

Chakras are energy fields within the body that go down in a perpendicular line from the crown of the head to the base of the spine. The Muladhara Chakra, otherwise known as Hui Yin point in Chinese Acupuncture, the Hai Di Lun in Tibetan Buddhism, or as the Root Chakra is located at the base of the spine and stores the latent energy known as Kundalini.

Why is it important?

Various internal arts from Indian Yoga to Taoist Qigong utilize this area for spiritual development and health benefits. Tibetan and Indian practices in particular consider the root Chakra extremely important because it is where the kundalini sleeps. By meditating on and strengthening the chakras, the kundalini will ascend upwards into the crown chakra providing great physical health and high spiritual attainment. In Chinese acupuncture, the point is simulated to calm the spirit, regulate menstruation, tonify the kidneys, and is generally useful in regulating the body’s overall health.

Why a bicycle?

Bicycles have been around for a long time but never has a bicycle ever been combined with acupressure stimulation methods. The Muladhara bicycle is a convenient, and practical method of stimulating the root chakra in one’s daily life.
