The jumper is simply the best balance bike on the market.
I realize that there are cheaper options out there, and as long as you have the money to spend right now, here’s why you should buy this one.
- Very adjustable seat – grows with your child. Trust me, they’ll enjoy this even after they’re riding a pedal bike
- Lightweight frame – makes moving it around easy
- VERY high quality tires. Ok, so I’m a bike guy, but these two Schwalbe tires alone are worth more than many cheaper alternatives. This matters because they will roll better, provide more cushioning and hold up better than the cheaper alternatives.
Finally, and this is the big one….
RESALE VALUE
Used Jumpers sell for almost as much as a new one. You will easily get 80% of your money back when you’re through with it.
Balance bikes are the easy way to get your kid riding, and the Jumper is the premium bike out there. I know my daughter loves hers.

I was very hesitant about getting this bike because of the cost… and it took a bit of convincing for my wife to come around, but the results speak for themselves.
I justified the expense in two ways:
1. We have two boys, we only need one of these bikes as it will pass from one to the next as elder learns to ride a peddle bike.
2. I heard that the resale of these is pretty darn good.
Just to paint a brief picture of our first born, he is cautious beyond cautious for a 3 year old. He took a long time to walk because he measured everything he did very carefully. Only when he became absolutely sure that he wasn’t going to fall did he took his first steps. And this is how he has handled everything in his short life.
For this past Christmas we wanted to get him a bike and after doing some research decided on this one. He had just turned three a few months before. When he first got on the bike it was just walking. This took him about a couple of weeks to get past. Then jogging, then running, then lifting his legs. Each step getting shorter and shorter. Now he is flying down hills, falling off at times, picking himself back up and getting back on.
Six months later this bike not only has given him the ability to ride a bike, but it also gave him the spirit of trying things even if he might fail. This was a huge personal growth step for him, and has carried into many other things in his life. Before where he would just watch the other children play in the play ground, now he is mixing it up with the best of them.
I am sure there are other factors for his turnaround, but it wasn’t until I saw him fall off his bike for the first time and get back on that I knew this bike was worth its weight in gold for our son.
And we still have another one to go!

This is the 2nd Like-a-Bike I have purchased for my grandsons. It is amazingly light well made and perfect for toddlers who have reached the age of two. Just give it to them and watch the fun.

I had been trying to teach my 8 year old daughter how to ride a bike for a long time when a friend told me about the “skoot” method where you take off the petals, lower the seat, and let the kids “skoot” around until they can balance by themselves. This is so much better than the “let go and hope they don’t fall” method, and in fact my older daughter used it learn to ride in about a week.
The Like-A-Bike turns this method into a product. It is intended for smaller kids (maybe 2-5). It is PERFECT. When the time came, I got this one from my 4 year old daughter and it took her all of a single day to be able to completely balance and ride on it. She now uses it to get to school in the morning and when the time comes to transition her onto a pedal bike, I know it will be easy.
