These shoes are very stable… I always land well in them, but they’re flexible enough to run in. Also, as with most NB shoes, you can remove the pad inside to insert your own orthotics. Another great feature: the back (along your Achilles tendon) is rigid, so after a couple wearings, you can easily slip these on and off without unlacing.
New Balance is my favorite shoe company and these are my favorite NB’s. I have multiple feet problems (plantar fascitis and bursitis), which require me to wear wide shoes, even though I don’t have wide feet. NB has a great selection of wides.

I was looking for a comfortable cross-training tennis shoe…I did not want the bells and whistles that so many other brands seem to think necessary. I actually tried this pair of cross-training shoes on without knowing the brand and felt like they were made for me…Unusual as it seems to take many tries to get just the most comfortable shoe for me…Needless to say I have been wearing them since…and my feet are happy..I think I will try New Balance before any others in the future.

I have a hard time finding shoes that fit well. I’m a tall person with small feet and balance is always a problem for me. I just bought these shoes and I wish I would have found them sooner. THESE SHOES ARE FANTASTIC, because they support my feet all the way around, even on the tops of my feet. I can’t have shoes that are loose, with my feet just swimming around in them. These shoes actually FIT a persons’s foot. I am going to buy a couple more pairs so that I can have them on hand. Just when I find one good pair,(whatever the company) they STOP making that style. It’s a very frustrating thing. I recommend these shoes to anyone who really wants a GREAT FIT. Mine aren’t the wide fit, but the medium fit is great also. The shoe is also light weight, and looks good on top of it all. Thanks, New Balance

I’m trying this NB407 cross trainer on right now (at home) and comparing it to the two other models I ordered from a retail store. Avia 5020 is a running shoe and does have some roominess, but not enough; it seems to have some additional “technology” or is it spin? After a while, my foot started cramping. The Nike “complete running shoe” same size as the others, was very cramped. I took it off immediately. Guess I’ll go with the NB. I can wiggle my toes and so far, no cramping…
