I’d bet the watch would be really nice…if I had it. I received the watch from Joma Shop. It was defective…lost 10 to 15 minutes every day. I returned the watch for exchange and all I “hear” is Joma Shop doesn’t have another one to send me. Not too swift on inventory control nor their ability to get another one in the gigantic metropolis of New York City.

Digital features are good, but the analog blocks the view of the digital so its hard to use the digital featurss. I can no longer change the analog time after 2 months of use. The watch runs slow so not being able to reset the analog is a major problem. Note that a long sleeve shirt seems to keep the watch from getting enough solar to run properly.
Warranty is not what you think… postage to Timex plus $8 to get their defect fixed! I did get an internet deal, but it’ll cost me almost half of what I paid to get it fixed. Think twice about buying the dual mode analog triathlon. I wish I bought the fully digital version.

This is a great watch and so far (2 months) no buttons have fallen off. In addition to the many features mentioned by other reviewers, is the ability to configure it so that features you don’t use, e.g., an alarm you don’t need, do not appear when you cycle through the modes. Another feature I like is that after you use a mode, e.g., stopwatch, it cycles back to the regular watch functions. My old Casio required that I continue through all of the functions before getting back to the watch itself.
Question: when I put the watch in analogue mode (day, date, not visible etc.) is it still recharging? I went to the Timex website but it is less than useless. I couldn’t even register the purchase on the website.

I’ve been using the Ironman Triathlon watches for over 10 years. I have to say they are the best for running, swimming and other activities that involve tough use. I once had one that the band broke three times before the battery ran out, so I’m sorry I had to write such a low review for this watch. When I saw a solar powered Ironman with dual functionality I didn’t think it twice and got one. The watch felt great to the wrist, very light and easy to read during the night (Indi-Glo rocks!)and the buttons to control are somewhat easy to find while running. However after about 3 hours I noticed that the seconds hand was bouncing back and not moving forward. I clicked a button and the problem got solved. Then about 2 hours later I saw the problem again, fixed it and the next day again, so that’s when I decided to return it. The rest of the functionality was fine but overall it looked too sensitive for the kind of use I intended to give.
I think I’ll try model #T5J641 instead (no analog) and 200m water resistant.

I’ve owned more watches in my lifetime than I could ever count, and by trade I’m an engineer…so I’m fussy with certain amount of detail. This one is one of the very best watches I’ve ever owned overall. Packed with features, easy to use, price is reasonable. Traditional dial face with hands PLUS digital time and date…all at the same time. Set them differently for instant ‘look’ at two time zones. Typical lap timer (chronograph) and countdown timer (I use this one a lot to remind me to check on laundry, stuff on the stove, when to shut the water hose off, etc. It’s got three programmable alarms that can also be set for DAILY, WEEKDAYS, WEEKENDS…..nice! This watch also recharges it’s battery using solar power. Unless you work in a closet I suspect you’ll never need to change the battery. The band is some kind of rubbery plastic and is NOT changeable. It looks fine, extremely durable, easily cleaned. This is not a fashion watch. It’s a watch for those who need the features, need it constructed well to last, the buttons are big enough so you can work them with reasonable gloves on…also a plus when working outdoors. I like mine so well I bought an extra one that I keep (battery removed) in reserve for that day in the future when the current one goes ‘belly up’. I don’t want to find out that Timex quit making them.
